The first phase of voting for the Gujarat assembly election began at 8 am and ended at 5 pm today. Polling was held in 89 seats of the 182-member assembly. As many as 788 candidates were in the contest in this phase. The second phase will be held on December 5 and the results will be declared on December 8.

Air India replied to a passenger waiting to check in. "We understand that delays are certainly uncomfortable. Our team is working diligently to minimize the inconvenience. They'll be in touch with you for further updates," Air India replied to a tweet.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took out a 40-km-long roadshow in Gujarat's Ahmedabad on a day when voting in the first of the two-phase assembly election was held. PM Modi spent about three hours during the roadshow and managed to cover 16 seats.
