Chhattisgarh state conference of Sanyukta Kisan Morcha concluded : decision on Bonus Satyagraha on 2-3 October

Raipur. The siege of Delhi by farmers for a year and a quarter against anti-farmer laws is a unique incident in the parliamentary history of the world. After the nationwide movement, the Modi government was forced to withdraw these laws. Today, corporate is trying to take over the agriculture sector in our country. There is a need to intensify the struggle against this, because even if a law for remunerative support price is made and the capitalists have control over the market, farmers will not get the support price.

National President of AIKKMS Satyawan said this while inaugurating the Chhattisgarh State Conference of Sanyukta Kisan Morcha in Raipur yesterday. More than 300 representatives of more than 20 organizations working among farmers, tribals, Dalits and displacement victims in Chhattisgarh were participating in the conference. These organizations include Chhattisgarh Bachao Andolan, Chhattisgarh Kisan Sabha, Hasdev Aranya Bachao Sangharsh Samiti, Bharatiya Kisan Union, Krantikari Kisan Sabha, Jila Kisan sangh Rajnandgaon and Balod, All India Kisan Sabha, Adivasi Bharat Mahasabha, kisan-Khet Majdoor sangathan, Kisan Mahasabha, Naya Raipur Affected Kisan Sangharsh Committee, Bhoo-visthapit Rojgar Ekta Sangh, Kisan-Majdoor Mahasangh Bilaspur, CMM (Majdoor Karykarta Samiti), Sarv Adivasi Samaj, Kisan Mitra sangh, Swatantra Kisan Sangathan, Balodabazar etc. are the prominent organizations.

Sanjay Parate presented the main resolution before the conference. The resolution supports the demand charter accepted at the All India level by the Sanyukta Kisan Morcha, underlines the magnitude of the agricultural crisis in Chhattisgarh and makes 14 demands at the state level, demanding effective implementation of the PESA Act, Forest Rights Act and MNREGA in the state.  Presenting the redolution, he said that this demand charter will become the basis for developing the joint kisan movement in the state. Representatives associated with various organizations also presented their views on this resolution, including Alok Shukla, Vakil Bharti, Praveen Sheokand, Hemant Tandon, Sudesh Tikam, Janaklal Thakur, Janak Rathore, Saura Yadav, Narottam Sharma, Vishwajit Harode, Padma Patil, Rupan Chandrakar, Deepak Sahu, Shyam Murat, Ramakant Banjare and Vinod Nagvanshi etc. were prominent. The representatives demanded from the Congress government to fulfill the promises made to the farmers and tribals including giving the outstanding bonus of 2 years of the BJP government.

The meeting was also addressed by Badal Saroj, Joint Secretary of All India Kisan Sabha, Sunilam of Kisan Sangharsh Samiti and Avtar Singh Mahima of Krantikari Kisan Union, Punjab. Badal, in his address, said that the Samyukta Kisan Morcha is a platform for struggle against the pro-corporate policies of the Central and State governments in this country with alternative policies and this Morcha will join the ongoing struggles against corporate loot and state sponsored repression in various parts of Chhattisgarh will give more strength. Mahima explained in detail how the system of remunerative support price is in the interest of farmers as well as poor consumers. Sunilam said that whether it is Congress or BJP, both are the friends of Adani-Ambani and only the unbreakable unity of workers and farmers and their joint movement can defeat their policies.

The conference has formed a 10-member coordination committee of the Sanyukta Kisan Morcha, which includes Alok Shukla, Praveen Sheokand, Hemant Tandon, Sudesh Tikam, Narottam Sharma, Vishwajit Harode, Rupan Chandrakar, Sanjay Parate, Gaindsingh Thakur and Keraram Mannewar.

The conference has decided to hold "Bonus Satyagraha" in the entire state on October 2 and observe "Black Day" on October 3 against protecting the culprits of last year's farmer massacre in Lakhimpur-Kheri.
