First Successful Celebration of Asha Radio Awards by Maharashtra Government

- - Government of Maharashtra organised the first edition of the Maharashtra Radio Mahotsav and the Maharashtra Asha Radio Awards 2025 at the Yashwantrao Chavan Centre in Mumbai.

The event was initiated and brought to life under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, and Hon’ble Cultural Minister, Shri Ashish Shelar, who aimed to recognise the important role of radio and its artists in shaping the state’s cultural landscape.

The responsibility of planning and managing the entire event was given to Henal Mehta (Co-Incharge, Film Division-Maharashtra). From overall management to coordination; Henal oversaw each element closely.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, for the first time, was interviewed by RJs from six different radio stations. The interview panel was moderated by Henal Mehta herself.

It was not just an event, it was a tribute to the living Legend Asha Bhosle ji, in whose name the awards have been instituted.

The Best Radio Station award went to Radio City, Best Male RJ was RJ Jeeturaaj of Radio Mirchi and Best Female RJ to RJ Malishka (Red FM).

All the radio stations of Maharashtra, as well as the community stations, participated in this event wholeheartedly.

As Maharashtra takes a step forward in celebrating radio culture, the Government of Maharashtra, Cultural Department, along with the organiser Henal Mehta, stood as a shining example of creativity and excellence in the cultural field.
