25 years of waiting for plots: IDA Scheme-171 affected families warn of protests

Indore. Plot allottees affected by the long-pending Indore Development Authority (IDA) Scheme No. 171 are intensifying their struggle after nearly 25 years of waiting. A meeting of affected residents was held on Sunday at the Saraswati Mandir premises in Tulsinagar, attended by members from the Nyaynagar Extension, Shri Mahalaxmi Nagar, and Pushp Vihar colonies.

While reviewing the efforts undertaken so far for the release of plots and resolution of Scheme-171 and deliberating on the future course of action, the members unanimously expressed concern over the apathy of the IDA and the state government to release plots to the genuine plot holders, who have been waiting for possession of their plots for decades.

They alleged that despite repeated assurances and announcements over the years, the issue remains unresolved, leading to widespread resentment among affected plot holders and their families.

It was unanimously decided that a detailed press conference would be convened within the next 20 days to present the plight of the affected families, highlight their prolonged struggle, and outline their future action plan. The objective is to draw the attention of the state government and the concerned authorities towards the pending issue.

The meeting also resolved to approach senior public representatives, including Water Resources Minister Tulsi Silawat and senior BJP leader Mahendra Hardia, to remind the state government of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav's earlier assurance that relief would soon be extended to the victims of Scheme-171. The affected families have urged the government to translate this assurance into action and bring a permanent resolution to the decades-old dispute.

The affected residents further warned that if no tangible progress is achieved, senior citizens, women, and family members associated with Scheme-171 will launch a democratic protest against the IDA by taking to the streets. The date and venue of the agitation will be announced in due course.

Sunita Tomar, President of the Pushp Vihar Colony Plot Holders Group, said that affected families have been fighting for their legitimate rights for years and that the time has come for the government and concerned agencies to deliver a lasting solution and ensure justice for plot holders.
