New Delhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has elevated India’s spiritual tradition and cultural consciousness on international platforms, was conferred the prestigious title of ‘Dharma Chakravarti’ on June 28, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. This honor was bestowed upon him by Jain Saint Acharya Shri 108 Pragysagar Maharaj on the auspicious occasion of the birth centenary celebrations of Acharya Shri 108 Vidyanand Maharaj.
This event was not merely a religious or spiritual gathering but emerged as a symbol of India’s cultural grandeur, ideological heritage, and moral pride.
A ‘Dharma Chakravarti’ is one who not only upholds the wheel of dharma (righteousness) but also keeps it moving in society. This title is awarded only to those who unwaveringly walk the path of truth, non-violence, service, and social welfare.
Prime Minister Modi was conferred this honor for his India-centric global policy, religious tolerance, environmental conservation, and consistent efforts toward public welfare.
“I do not consider myself worthy of this title, but I humbly accept this blessing given by the saints. This honor is not for me, but for Mother India. It is a recognition of our culture, philosophy, and eternal values.”
Paying tribute to Acharya Vidyanand Maharaj, he said that his life was a confluence of penance, knowledge, and compassion.
Jain saints described Modi as the “Protector of Dharma and the Nation” and honored him as a true ally of the saintly tradition.
This title was not merely conferred upon a politician, but upon a national leader who has kept India’s invisible heritage — dharma, truth, and compassion — alive and has carried it beyond the ages. The title ‘Dharma Chakravarti’ has today been bestowed upon a personality who is leading India not just towards development, but also towards spiritual leadership.
The title of ‘Dharma Chakravarti’ is not just a personal honor, but an international recognition of those eternal Indian traditions that are rooted in truth, non-violence, and compassion. Prime Minister Modi has received this honor as a symbol of that India which is moving not towards secularism, but towards the embodiment of dharma-centered living.
This honor rekindles the unshakable belief of Indian civilization — that dharma is not merely a method of worship, but a holistic order of life — and as long as the wheel of dharma continues to turn, the soul of India shall remain immortal.
