Ghaziabad.
Against the illegal weekly market, traders of the area once again organized a united and peaceful sit-in protest, similar to last Sunday. After the illegal market was deceitfully set up again last time, there was strong resentment among the traders. Keeping this in view, traders this time remained seated at the protest site throughout the day, due to which the illegal weekly market remained completely shut today.

Owing to the active role of the administration and the Municipal Corporation, barricading was put in place at the site from Saturday itself. From Sunday morning onwards, Municipal Corporation City Zone In-charge R.P. Singh and City Kotwali In-charge Sachin Kumar remained present at the spot along with police force and did not allow the weekly market to be set up under any circumstances.
Trader leader Raju Chhabra informed that on Sunday morning, Ghaziabad Mayor Mrs. Sunita Dayal called from Lucknow and issued clear instructions that the illegal weekly market must not be allowed under any circumstances. The Municipal Corporation and the administration had already made complete preparations, due to which the illegal market was successfully prevented.
Addressing the traders at the protest site, local councillor Rajiv Sharma stated that if any attempt is made to set up the weekly market after noon, the protest would be intensified further. Meanwhile, Arun Mittal said that the market has now started extending right up to residential houses, causing distress to both residents and traders, and therefore it must be opposed completely.
Residents of the Gande Nala area and members of the Muslim community also participated in the protest. Haji Chaman and Imran Rizwan stated that due to the weekly market, they are unable to step out of their homes, and their children are so troubled that they cannot go anywhere on Sundays. This has severely affected normal public life.
During the sit-in protest, a group associated with the illegal weekly market attempted to disrupt the atmosphere by putting a woman forward and using objectionable words. However, due to the wisdom and restraint of senior traders, the situation was immediately brought under control. Subhash Bajrangi promptly informed the administration, following which women police personnel were called to the spot, and the situation remained completely under control.
The protest was attended by Subhash Chhabra, Manveer Nagar, Anil Sanwariya, Suresh Mahajan, Sanjeev Lohariya, Hari Mehta, Dharampal Kukreja, Dinesh Sisodia, Subhash Bajrangi, Rajendra Taneja, Pappu Lahoriya, Anurag Garg, social influencer Sunil Chacha, Udayveer Ladi, Akash Katiyar, Praveen Sharma, Sanjeev Valmiki, Sachin Hindu, Naresh Pradhan, Ved Prakash (Khadi Wale), Brajesh, Councillor Praveen Kumar Mulayam, Kaushik, Vijay Kakkar, Deepak Kakkar, Deepak Pal, Sumit Goyal, Pawan Mahajan, Tilak Mahajan, Kamal Batra, Naval, Mahesh, Ankush Arora, Lov Pandit, Himanshu Arora, Atul, Pankaj Chhabra, Sanjeev Bhushan Suri, Rajat Nagpal, along with hundreds of traders from Chopla Market, Delhi Gate, Ganj, Good Mandi, Anaj Mandi, Gol Market, Sabzi Mandi, Purani Musafir, and Navyug Market.
