When the national anthem echoes in the heart of every Indian and the tricolour flutters with pride, it is not just a flag — it becomes a symbol of our self-respect, sacrifice, and struggle. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, running from August 2 to August 15, 2025, inspires every Indian to proudly say — My Tricolour, My Pride.
Responding to this proud initiative, the Fatheh Nagar unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), under the call of Gautam Buddha Nagar MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma, has enthusiastically joined the campaign. VHP workers have resolved that this 15th August, the tricolour will wave on every street, at every doorstep, and on every rooftop — carrying the message that Indians not only celebrate Independence Day but also remember the sacrifices of their forefathers.
But let us now revisit a lesser-highlighted yet powerful facet of our freedom struggle — the “Garam Dal” (revolutionary front) whose bold actions shook the foundations of British rule.
Veer Savarkar
Enduring inhuman torture at the Cellular Jail in the Andaman Islands, Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar not only advocated for armed revolution but also envisioned a powerful, Sanatani, and self-reliant India.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose
The man who roared “Give me blood, and I shall give you freedom”, Netaji formed the Azad Hind Fauj to directly challenge British imperialism. He disagreed with Gandhi’s non-violent approach and believed armed resistance was key to India’s freedom.
Bhikaji Cama
Bhikaji Cama was the first to hoist the Indian flag on foreign soil and voiced India’s independence on international platforms. Inspired by Arya Samaj’s revolutionary ideals, she stirred nationalist fervour among youth.
Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Batukeshwar Dutt
This legendary trio were the roaring voices of revolution who immortalised the slogan “Inquilab Zindabad”. Their martyrdom awakened the youth and gave momentum to the freedom struggle.
Ram Prasad Bismil & Ashfaqulla Khan
The poet of “Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamaare dil mein hai…”, Ram Prasad Bismil, and his close friend Ashfaqulla Khan proved that nation comes before religion. Both bravely took part in the Kakori incident and were hanged with honour.
Rajguru, Sukhdev, Khudiram Bose, Udham Singh
Rajguru and Sukhdev were the heroes of the Saunders assassination; Udham Singh avenged the Jallianwala Bagh massacre by killing General Dyer; and Khudiram Bose was hanged at just 18 — all of them embodying a revolutionary spirit India can never forget.
‘Har Ghar Tiranga’: Not Just a Campaign, But a Pledge of Gratitude
As the tricolour waves this August 15, let it not be just for photos or formalities. Let it serve as a tribute — to those brave souls who gave their lives so that we may breathe in freedom today.
The VHP unit of Gautam Buddha Nagar, in association with MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma and BJP karyakartas, is ensuring that every citizen hoists the flag at their home and proudly proclaims —
“I am an Indian, and this is my pride.”
